The debut novel from an Scamell
Aliens in Garish angelic form have chosen humankind as one of the races worthy of sharing an otherworldly paradise with them. Most people have already bee "decanted." Leo Salmon has not, but he watched as billions around him were transformed into viscous, blue fluid in preparation fort he long trip to Caldo. Leo and a handful of the remaining few un-decanted who have been unable to truly receive and "Angel's Promise" are house in Walnut Ridge pre-decantation facility, awaiting their fates.
The alien ships are leaving in a matter of days. If Leo and the other stragglers are unable to genuinely accept the alien offering, while most of liquefied humanity is transported to paradise, Leo and the rest of the outcasts will be left behind to build a new life on an empty Earth. At least, that's the plan, right after they grab some Taco Bell.

"Walnut Ridge is an amazing example of speculative fiction in its purest form. It's insane, it's sensational, and it's also full of heart."
"Without giving away too much, things start out at a 10 and keep ratcheting up as the story goes on. We've got it all, folks: aliens, robots, ghosts, goo people, sentient geometry, and more!"
"This book has all of the thoughtfulness, quirkiness, and humor you'd expect from Vonnegut and Douglas Adams."
"In its simplistic form and wacky story, Walnut Ridge‘s plot and prose are reminiscent of an early Vonnegut novel. Through this, Scamell showcases the difficulties of navigating the human brain and the contradictions of human belief, behavior, and intentions. Overall, I enjoyed the plot and character arcs, with the last half of the book being particularly gripping."
"A new twist on the post-apocalyptic trope."
"The author’s creativity never disappoints!"
"This book!! It’s classified as Weird Erotic Horror novel and that’s exactly what it delivered. People will get tired of me saying this but it’s Golden Girls meets Horror Smut and it was just so fun."
" What a delightful little gem of a book! I had so much fun reading this! It was funny, sweet, emotional, gory and gross, all in one dynamic story. The writing is utterly charming, and funny, and the TV guide bits were such a fun touch! It was campy, it was weird, it was sexy - well done authors!! I loved every second of it!!"
" A fun, dark, and very raunchy time. If you're the type to enjoy surreal humour with heavy doses of X-rated content, definitely pick up this bizarre book!"
“Mommy Won't Wake Up Right” by Dan Scamell. This was grotesque and scary, it felt like it could be the opening to a full length novel; a story I would love to read.
"Some very good stories in here! A New Kind of Meat, If I Carry You, Mommy Wont Wake Up Right, Screwed in the Head, and Bitch Witch were all fantastic reads."
" I absolutely loved the stories: "Family Dinner" by Ruth Anna Evans (the editor of the anthology), "The God Carcass" by Lor Gislason, "Mommy Won't Wake Up Right" by Dan Scamell and "The Last Hamburger Restaurant in the World" by Judith Sonnet."
In this LIVE episode, Alan and Diane talk to authors Dan Scamell and Bradley Sides about the weird, the bizarro sub-genre, aliens, monsters, having the confidence to publish, story structure, getting published, and much more.
Writings plucked from the stream of consciousness of a man who is, ostensibly, a lump of wet clay.
